Hi! SoMo here. Do you know who’s writing to you each month? I think sometimes we assume you know, and don’t introduce ourselves. We alternate. Surprise!
Been missing you guys during our break. It’s been so nice though, to run into a few of you IRL! I met a listener called Alice today at the launch of Alice Oehr’s children’s book Off To The Market at Nonna’s Grocer’s new shop at Central Station (two recs in one!) and it reminded me how gorgeous you all are. Not that I ever forget, but we both feel so grateful to have such a brilliant collection of smart people listening to us rabble on. Thank you.
Anyway while I was considering a topic for October’s newsletter I thought hey, it’s a new season, we’re FINALLY having a taste of great weather, and that’s making me feel like I want a whole new wardrobe. Not an always-viable option, but in spring we’re allowed to be silly. If you’re in the same kind of fling-it-all-out-the-window-and-start-anew (Aries friends, hi), here are some items I’ve bought or coveted lately, in no particular order. SoRo has popped a few in too.
Extremely keen on “sets” lately, that’s a top a trousers or suit vibe in the same fabric. The Mame Halter Shirt and Mina Pants set from Melbourne label Muse really hit all these buttons for me. Also in the Muse vein, I bought the black Mari dress earlier in the year, love it, and SoRo has her eyes on the new pink one.
In the same vein, I bought this butter yellow suit (Jacket, Trousers) from Assembly Label to wear to a wedding next weekend. They’re now both basically 50% off so great for you, annoying for me! From their new silk collection, SoRo was gifted this loose-fitting silk shirt and pants combo. Sleek.
