How to Lazy Entertain, Wedding Day Tips and Fancy Kebabs
Your two favourite (overly confident) Sophie’s are staring down the barrel of the Sydney silly season. (SoRo’s dad says it goes from Melbourne Cup to Mardi Gras and he’s not wrong). SM has got some good tips if you’re freaking out about all the entertaining you’ve got coming up (hint, it’s alllll about arranging delicious snacks on beautiful pottery) while SR is ignoring it altogether by running off to NYC. We also weirdly both reminisce about our weddings? Look, who knows, it’s fun we promise.
Listener Recommendation:
If you’re also trying to reduce your waste and your carbon footprint, this recommendation from Lizzie might float your boat. Sign up for Positive Waste and you’ll get a compost bucket for all your food waste, then you can drop it off at one of their collection points (Sydney only) to have it converted into green energy and nutrient rich fertilizer! For our non-Sydney, Australia listeners you should check out Sharewaste for a free alternative.
EAT
SM
Stracciatella with Salsa Verde and anchovies. It’s like easy access burrata! SM likes the one from Vanella but plenty of brands make good ones.
SR
SoRo’s moved onto a new legume! Start out by making a batch of these garlicky, crispy chickpeas (throw in some chilli flakes, sumac and Aleppo pepper while you’re at it). Mix up a quick lemony yogurt, pile on the chickpeas, and then top everything with chopped tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers and parlsey. Perfect summer meal!
